The owner of BB’s Teriyaki Grill, Michael Sauvage, is a Seattle native with a passion for using natural ingredients in his restaurant. “We use all fresh, natural ingredients and meats raised with no antibiotics,” he notes. Sauvage grew up loving to eat teriyaki. During his senior year at University of Washington he worked at Yoshino Teriyaki in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood. “BB is the owner there and he taught me about the teriyaki business. I learned so much from him that I named my restaurant after him,” said Sauvage.

BB’s has enjoyed a loyal following since it opened on the Ave in July 2017. Diners appreciate the generous portions and the variety of side dishes. “We want to offer great value and food that you can feel good about eating a couple of times a week,” explains Sauvage.

The restaurant is casual and service is fast. Diners see their meal being prepared as they choose up to three sides (such as rice, yakisoba noodles, salad or vegetables), one protein (chicken, tofu, beef brisket or shredded pork) and spicy or regular teriyaki sauce. Diners can also order online and pick up their food at the restaurant.

BB’s has been so successful that Sauvage is opening a second location downtown at Third Avenue and Spring Street. Visit the U District location at 4221 University Way NE, Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
