Volunteer Community Cleanups

Volunteers Make the U District Cleaner for All!

The U District Partnership (UDP) hosts a community cleanup on the last Saturday of most months. We meet at the park south of UHeights Center. The UDP provides cleaning equipment. Please wear weather appropriate clothing and closed toed shoes. Join us at 9:00 am for free coffee and donuts before we head out in teams together to clean up our neighborhood. We finish up by 11 a.m. Check our calendar to confirm the information about the next meeting.

Annual U District Clean Up

A group of people mostly wearing green tee shirts, many hold large yellow trash bags.

Every May, the UDP hosts the annual U District Community Clean Up. Started by community members in 1994, this event is a great opportunity to connect with neighbors, do a little revitalization and share in community. People from across all sectors of the U District gather together to meet new friends and “Spring Clean” their neighborhood. As part of the activities, the UDP offers prizes donated by local businesses for found objects in categories such as Best Mother’s Day Gift, Best Lawn Ornament, Best Back Story, and more! So, bring yourself, your friends and/or a team from work and help pitch in to make the neighborhood look great as we head into the summer. Check back in the spring for this year’s date and time.
