About the University District Business Improvement Area’s Ratepayer Advisory Board
An Interim Ratepayer Advisory Board was appointed by the Seattle City Director of the Office of Economic Development in September 2020. The Director shall appoint an Inaugural Board by the end of October 2020.

It is responsible for making recommendations to the Director of Finance on the annual work plan and budget for the U District Business Improvement Area (UDBIA) in accordance with the established UDBIA Bylaws.

2020 Membership Ordinance
The 2020 ordinance stipulates the following for its membership:
- Two members must be a resident (owner and renter)
- Three members must be a commercial tenants of which, at least two shall be NNN lessees.
- 80% of members or more must be Ratepayers (as that term is defined by the City)
- One member must be a Ratepayer contributing less than 0.5% of the total assessment.
- No more than 5 members may represent the University of Washington
- There is an annual meeting of all Ratepayers
