Seattle City Council makes significant investments in the U District

Excellent news coming out of City Hall this week with the recently passed 2026 City budget, which includes critical funding to support Seattle’s University District community.

• $160,000 for dedicated person-based, place-based homeless outreach in the U District
• $100,000 to support enhanced cleaning in the U District

The U District Partnership extends its sincere gratitude to the Seattle City Council, specifically Councilmember Maritza Rivera for supporting these funding initiatives and to Councilmember Dan Strauss for being an early champion of our case conferencing program for homeless outreach services.
