The Economic Development and Clean & Safe Committees offer an opportunity for community members and small business owners to learn about the issues shaping the neighborhood’s economy while also serving as a sounding board that offers guidance and input on the programs and services of the U District Partnership.
Economic Development Committee
Ensuring that the U District is a vibrant and healthy place to do business is one of the main objectives of the U District Partnership. Economic development initiatives are core to this work and take a variety of forms. The Economic Development Committee serves in an advisory capacity, and as a resource for UDP by providing input and guidance on work plans and initiatives. The Committee serves as a resource to staff to accomplish organizational goals by sharing perspectives, expertise and in some cases providing hands-on support. The Committee meets quarterly, and is made up of local business owners, property-owners, developers, real estate brokers, and other community stakeholders critical to the U District economy. Clean & Safe Committee
Clean and safe initiatives are a big part of the U District Partnership’s work to ensure the neighborhood is safe and welcoming to all. The Clean and Safe Committee also serves in an advisory capacity, and as a resource for UDP by providing input and guidance on our program work and advocacy with respect to sanitation, public safety and homeless outreach.
